Collingwood

  • November 11
  • A short parade begins at 10:45 AM sharp at the Tremont (Simcoe St.) walking one block to the Cenotaph located at the Collingwood Museum.
  • Everyone is invited back to the Collingwood Legion afterwards for a free community lunch (490 Ontario Street).
  • Remember with your local Royal Canadian Legion

Wasaga Beach 

  • November 11

Wasaga Beach Public Library will be holding an informal gathering and social, beginning at 10:30 a.m. For more information contact the library at 705-429-5481.

Stayner 

  • November 11

Royal Canadian Legion Branch 457 will be holding Remembrance Day ceremonies at the cenotaph in front of the Clearview Township municipal offices on Gideon Street. Parade form-up is at 10:30 a.m. in the parking area on Huron Street.

Thornbury – Clarksburg

  • November 11
  • 10:30 a.m. Parade (from Clarksburg Legion to Jack Acres Park)

Ravenna

The Collingwood Youth Centre produced this video of Collingwood’s Poet Laureate, Day Merrill, reciting a poem she wrote for Remembrance Day.

The Veterans Banner program — a project initiated last year to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War is sponsored by The Collingwood Downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA), in collaboration with Royal Canadian Legion Branch 63,

Collingwood Downtown has installed poppy banners on the light standards to recognize Remembrance Day and the sacrifices made to ensure our freedom.  For the 2019 project, Collingwood Downtown will be covering all production and installation costs of these banners. Family members, friends and businesses who would like to recognize a veteran will be able to purchase a banner by making a $100 donation the legion’s poppy fund.
